What not to say in a job interview: Tim Sherwood admits to being an Arsenal fan despite wanting Tottenham job

Tim Sherwood may have talked himself out of contention to fill the managerial vacancy at Tottenham after admitting to being a fan of Spurs’ bitter rivals Arsenal.

In the ultimate job interview fail, footage has emerged of the former Spurs midfielder speaking on daytime TV show Sport and Leisure and although this was prior to Andre Villas-Boas’ sacking, Sherwood will surely be regretting his words now.

‘I’d love to see them [Arsenal] do well, I grew up an Arsenal fan as a kid,’ he said.

‘My dad still goes to the Emirates every week.’
