Arsenal set to return for 'dream' Luis Suarez in January

Arsene Wenger has dropped a major hint that he may renew attempts to sign Liverpool's Luis Suarez in January, but claiming it would be a 'dream' to have the Uruguayan playing for him.

The Gunners boss has long been a fan of Suarez and tried numerous times to bring the player to the Emirates in the summer, only to be rebuffed by Brendan Rodgers' firm stance.

Rumours have recently surfaced suggesting that the Frenchman would once again target the 26-year-old at the beginning of the New Year as he looks to provide quality support for Olivier Giroud, despite the fact that he could in excess of €40million.

And recent comments published in French newspaper Le 10 Sport have done little to dim the transfer flame, with Wenger singing the praises of Liverpool's star man.

"This is a player who has a form of provocative personality. All English defenders hate playing against him. On the information I got, every day, it's really easy. He is friendly, loves to train," Wenger told French sources.

"He is an angel, but when he is on the ground, he turns into a demon. Everyone dreams of having a player like Suarez."

It's looking increasingly likely that Liverpool will face an uphill battle to keep the Premier League's top goalscorer past January, as Real Madrid have also openly expressed their interest in him.

It's clear Rodgers doesn't want to weaken his squad with the sale of its most important player, but he may not be left with much of a choice if Suarez decides he wants to leave.
